Pictures of the various 'Stop The Clocks' promo material
Pictures are coming in of the promotional material for 'Stop The Clocks'.
First of all are promos of the Lynchmob Beats Mix '95 of 'Champagne Supernova', first released back then as the b-side to the UK 12" promo of 'Cum On Feel The Noize'.

First reports are coming in of what will be packaged with the various sets of 'Stop The Clocks'. The standard set will have a 28-page booklet, with presumably background information on all of the songs on the album. The bonus DVD, bundled with a limited edition set, will contain the full 35-40 minute EPK (of which clips are gradually appearing on the Oasisinet Stopclock), which includes an interview with Noel and Liam about the songs on the record. A couple of performances from Knebworth in August 1996 (possibly 'Champagne Supernova') and from the Chicago Metro in October 1994 (possibly 'Fade Away' or 'Slide Away') will be included. The full trailer for 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' will also be included, along with a 32-page booklet incased in a gatefold digipak with a slipcase to preserve the set.
FULL 'LORD DON'T SLOW ME DOWN' TRAILER + NEW SONG CLIP
The full trailer for 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' leaked onto the Internet earlier today and was found by the user 'The Fame' on the Masterplan forum. The best bit is a 1:01 clip of a new song, sung by Noel.
I'm tired, and I'm sick I got a habit that I just can't kick I feel hungover and I'm all in love Let the lights go down, I'm gonna shoot 'em all S'alright, don't be afraid You gotta keep dreaming in the bed you made And if it tastes like shit Well it beats sleepin' rough on the floor
The TV debut of the new promo video for Acquiesce, which was originally scheduled to air on ITV2 in the early hours of this Saturday morning, has been put back to Thursday 5th October at 11pm, still on ITV2.
Two new clips from the new Oasis film appeared today on the 'Stopclock' on Oasisinet. One features some of the band in a competitive game of Frustration, the other one was filmed during Liam's 33rd birthday party.
The greatest hits set "Stop the Clocks," coming Nov. 21 via Epic, will have to satisfy the appetites of Oasis fans for awhile, according to guitarist and chief songwriter Noel Gallagher. The band is also without a label, having fulfilled its worldwide deal with Sony Music.
"There's no plans to do anything," Gallagher says of future Oasis recording. "Saying that, there's no plans not to do anything, either. We're not like other bands in that respect. We're masters of our own destiny and take these things one album at a time. The last time we sat down and planned an album, it turned into 'Don't Believe the Truth,' and that took three years to record."
Those sessions, however, yielded plenty of songs; Gallagher notes that of 11 leftover tracks, "there's seven that are good and four that are really great, so we could put an album out tomorrow if we wanted."
But don't count on it. Instead, Oasis plan to focus on "Stop the Clocks" -- named after an unreleased Gallagher song -- which features 18 hits and favorites from Oasis' 12 years of recording, including the B-sides "Acquiesce" and "Half the World Away." Gallagher says he was approached about including some new songs on the album as well, but that he opted not to "because it takes the focus away from what you're actually trying to say with a retrospective."
Gallagher promises that a boxed set and other unreleased and archival material will one day come out of the Oasis vaults. He also says Oasis won't be resigning with Sony, and the band is currently weighing its options for the future.
"I'd like to do something on our own, but it's a bit of a big step," he says. "It depends on what works best for all of us, really. [Oasis vocalist] Liam (Gallagher) will want the big advance of $900 million and be drinking champagne for the rest of his life. I, on the other hand, would rather put the records out and keep all the money. So I don't know which way we'll go."
Noel appeared in this weeks NME to talk about the album, and what tracks "should have made it, but didn't". Also an interview with Sir Peter Blake, designer of the cover art, talking about what inspired it's content.
Bonehead appeared on Terry Christian's show today to talk Oasis, The Rain and his new band. No mention of the new Oasis stuff, but it's a good enough interview to put on here. He also might be on Christian's show on Saturday night (on the same station) and Christian says he'll try to dig out an old 'The Rain' song he has called 'We're Having A Rave On The Roof'. See The Oasis Times for more details on this upcoming show.
Oasis have announced the release of the 'Stop The Clocks' EP in the UK on the 13th November. The EP is led by 'Acquiesce', for many the finest Oasis song never to be a single, and book-ended by 'The Masterplan'. Also included on the EP are what Oasisinet claims are never before heard recordings of a demo version of 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' (although a demo was released on an NME cover cassette in February 1994 - which you can download from my demos page) and a live version of 'Some Might Say' from 1995, that were unearthed during the mastering of the forthcoming Best Of album. The EP is available only as a one-off collectors edition CD and Double gatefold 7” including an exclusive sheet of stickers:
1. 'Acquiesce' 2. 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' (demo version) 3. 'Some Might Say' (live in 1995, venue unknown) 4. 'The Masterplan'
A new clip from 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' (the video of a bunch of fans singing the chorus of 'Live Forever' that was previously found on the excerpt included on the 'Let There Be Love' DVD) and a clip of Noel and Liam talking about 'Acquiesce', from the 'Stop The Clocks' EPK (probably to be included on the 'Stop The Clocks' limited edition bonus DVD) were today added to the 'Stopclock' on Oasisinet.
Noel done an interview tonight to NME.com backstage at KOKO in London, where he guested with Kasabian on a couple of tracks as part of NME.com's 10th Anniversary celebrations.
This page will collate as much promo that the band do to promote 'Stop The Clocks' and 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' as I can find. It will also include any other bits of interesting news and info I think will benefit the page. Feel free to use this content (as if it's mine anyway) to spark off fresh debate on your favourite forum. Give a link though, eh? ;-)
